The Multan Cricket Stadium is one of Pakistan’s major cricket venues. It was built as a replacement for the old Ibn-e-Qasim Bagh. The stadium was inaugurated in 2001. With seating for around 30,000 spectators, it quickly became a landmark for the city. The Pakistan Cricket Board manages the venue, which also serves as the official home ground of the PSL side Multan Sultans.

The first Test match here was played in August 2001 when Pakistan hosted Bangladesh. The first One Day International at this stadium took place in September 2003 between the same two teams. To give the ground a new look, floodlights were later installed, making day/night cricket possible. A historic clash under lights took place in February 2006 when Pakistan faced India.

In 2018, the PCB announced further redevelopment as part of its plan to revive cricket across the country. The venue hosted its first Pakistan Super League game in February 2020 when Multan Sultans played versus Peshawar Zalmi. The stadium layout includes several enclosures named after legendary Pakistani cricketers such as Imran Khan, Javed Miandad, Zaheer Abbas, Waqar Younis, Inzamam-ul-Haq and Fazal Mahmood.
