Virat Kohli Watches Novak Djokovic at Wimbledon, Says “Business as Usual for the Gladiator”

Indian cricketer Virat Kohli made a rare public appearance on Monday as he attended the Wimbledon Round of 16 clash between Novak Djokovic and Alex de Minaur at Centre Court in London.

The Indian cricket icon, dressed sharply in formal wear alongside wife Anushka Sharma, looked every bit the sporting royalty in the stands. As Djokovic, the seven-time Wimbledon champion, staged a stirring comeback after losing the first set 1-6, Kohli remained glued to the action.

Now retired from both Test and T20I formats, Virat Kohli is in the middle of a well-earned break from international duty. With India’s tour of Bangladesh postponed, his return to action is set for the ODI series against Australia in October. Until then, Kohli appears to be enjoying some time off.

Among those present to witness the drama unfold in Wimbledon were Roger Federer, Joe Root and James Anderson, all legends in their own right. But it was Kohli, who grabbed the attention of Indian fans. He was sitting next to his wife Anushka, both exuding elegance.

Shortly after the match, Kohli shared his reaction on Instagram, calling Djokovic a “gladiator.”

"What a match. It was business as usual for the gladiator," Kohli wrote.

Virat Kohli Applauds Team India’s Historic Victory at Edgbaston

Kohli’s appearance at Wimbledon came only a day after he posted on social media, congratulating the Indian team for creating history at Edgbaston as they defeated England by 336 runs.

"Great victory for India at Edgbaston. Fearless and kept pushing England to the wall. Brilliantly led by Shubhman with the bat and in the field, and impactful performances from everyone. Special mention to Siraj and Akash for the way they bowled on this pitch," Kohli shared on X.

As Kohli now lives in London and with the third Test match of the series scheduled at Lord's, it is being speculated that the 36-year-old will be in attendance for that fixture.
