Former Bangladesh skipper Shakib Al Hasan has gone past 500 T20 wickets recently. He is currently playing in the Caribbean Premier League 2025 for the Antigua & Barbuda Falcons.

He took three wickets for 11 runs with the ball to restrict St. Kitts & Nevis Patriots to 133 runs for nine wickets. He then scored 25 runs off 18 balls to help his side win the game by seven wickets.

Shakib Al Hasan joined the likes of Rashid Khan, Dwayne Bravo and Sunil Narine and Imran Tahir as bowlers with over 500 wickets in T20 cricket. Shakib is currently below the other three in the list, having just gone past 500 sticks. In the ongoing season, he has taken four wickets from five games, including three against the St. Kitts & Nevis.

Shakib Al Hasan Gets To 500 T20 Wickets

Against the Patriots, Shakib picked up the wickets of Mohammad Rizwan, Kyle Mayers and Navian Bidaisee to work his magic in the match. Incidentally, he became the first and only player from Bangladesh to score over 7500 T20 runs and pick over 500 wickets.

Shakib now has 502 wickets to his name from 457 T20s, and averages 21.43. He has scored 7574 runs and averages 21.03 in T20s. In this edition of the CPL, he also went past 500 runs in the tournament.

Shakib has been away from the national team since October 2024 but has been playing in various T20 leagues like the Vitality Blast, MLC 2025 and now in CPL 2025. Shakib’s team, the Antigua & Barbuda Falcons, are currently leading the CPL 2025 points table with three wins and two losses from six games.
